Who Is This For?
For the Music Director or Worship Leader > My desire is to show you how to bring the level of your team to a higher level of success and freedom so you can get to the heart of worship!
For the Bandmember or Vocalist > The entire team is important to the outcome. Your musical acumen will grow, developing confidence in your skills & you’ll also feel less nervous! This frees you up to focus on the lyrical content; the message of the song. You’ll leave Sunday morning with a sense of “He/we did that!” What a great worship experience!
For the Keyboardist > You’ll learn what to play, new chords & chordal inversions, and how to use them. Your ability to “comp” behind a vocalist will take a leap forward and you’ll learn new soundscapes & editing techniques to use with your synth patches.
What’s the GOAL?
What might it feel like if you walked into a rehearsal or live event knowing that you were prepared for any musical question or situation that might come your way? You will feel confident & relaxed that you and your team are totally ready for the music set coming up!

What’s the Curriculum?
We’ll work to achieve a cohesive unity & sound for your worship team by integrating the band and vocalists to achieve an accurate, “tight” sound
We’ll take a dive into Music Theory, arranging the charts for band & vocals and the DAW’s & computer software used in worship settings.
We’ll learn how to discover your vocal range and also the range of others on your team. This will allow you to pick the PERFECT Key to fit the Vocal range of any song and it will maximize the impact of your Vocal in various Worship settings.
We’ll learn how to create several types of super “clean” looking, clear and accurate charts for Band & Vocals. *This will cut down those unnecessary mistakes that can happen because of inaccurate or hard to read charts*
We’ll have some fun with ear-training with intervals, timing and also chord recognition & transcription!
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have to be an expert musician to take part?
No, I want to help any person with wherever their talent base is at the moment & teach them some new skills to use!
Do you need to read music?
No, I try to make all my examples and methods work across the board regardless of your musical training. We will learn some basic note reading but it will never inhibit your use of my materials or coaching. (For you music readers out there - we WILL use your skills too, especially in the group sessions)
Do I need a complete knowledge of chords?
You sure don’t… We’ll break chords down to basic triads, use the circle of 5th’s and grow from there into “the basic chords you need to know.”
Will there be assignments to do on my own?
Yes, I will have PDF’s for you to use along the way and also MP3’s for you to download when we get into Ear Training - rhythmic, melodic & chordal.
I’m a musician who is a vocalist - what’s in the curriculum for me?
We will work a lot on figuring out your specific vocal range and how that range will determine the *PERFECT* key for you for a particular song! I’ll teach you how to figure out the melodic range of a song and then APPLY your vocal range to the song’s range to get a GREAT FIT for your voice to be sucessful. *We’ll also look at how the range of a song and the key that it’s in might need to be changed in different worship settings. I’ve found that this is a very important factor that often gets overlooked!
